Images by Jo & Jon Mosen Jon has been mad keen on avaition and drawing since the war years having grown up near Northolt Airport. He regularly visited the airport to sketch the visiting post war airliners and service aircraft. Following his apprenticeship with the De Havilland Aeronautical Technical School and a two year break in the RAF he went on to start his own business in film, technical animation and illustration and has produced work for many companies, including De Havillands, Vickers, Rolls Royce Engines, Cementation, Smiths Industries, AEI, Perkins Engines Flight Refuelling, McCorquodales, Meggitt. Jo joined in the business which continued into the computer age with them both being involved in all forms of computer graphics with Jon teaching the subject during the 80’s onwards. Following his retirement he went back to his love of painting aviation subjects mainly for his own enjoyment, but also to commission. Some of his latest paintings are now featured here as limited editions. The paintings are usually produced in gouache or acrylic.
Jo’s love of the seashore and art began during her childhood living in Cornwall, not far from the St Ives Art community. Living now on the beautiful Dorset Jurassic Coastline, Jo finds inspiration in the ever changing patterns, textures and colours of the seashore and countryside around her home.
Jo has been an artist since her teens with a main career in graphic design but over the years her work has included artwork for the film industry, illustration for animation, computer graphics and design work in many other fields. Now Jo’s creative art covers a variety of subjects in various media, including computer enhanced photographs used as inspiration for her paintings.
